The Council is now piloting its new DigiTV service, a free service you can access through Sky or Virgin TV services.

 News: Help us to transform Southchurch Hall Gardens
Community News
Southend Borough Council has been awarded a grant by the Heritage Lottery Fund to help with the preparation towards an application for the restoration of the Gardens.

The £45000 grant will contribute towards the planning and consultation work required by the HLF as part of a successful bid.

 1st Act Drama Club Leigh-on-Sea
Community NewsTania writes "1st Act Drama Club for 7-11 year olds is set to open at the Blenheim Centre, Leigh-on-Sea on April 16th 2007. The club is run by professional actor & playwright Tania Freeman founder of 15/8 Theatre Company. The club will run 4.15-5.45 every Monday (excluding bank holidays), during term time.

In addition to the Shoebury based club for 7-11 year olds we are also looking to introduce a club for those aged 11 (& in senior school) to 16 in April called Just Act. Just Act will run 6.15-7.45 every Thurday during term time. "
